Kickoff “She Plays Pickleball” on 23 February in Vienna

Das Packhaus – Marxergasse 24, 1030 Vienna will become the meeting point for everyone who wants to discover pickleball on 23 February 2026, between 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm. Pickleball is movement, fun & community. We will present the BMWKMS-funded project “She Plays Pickleball“, which develops dedicated offers for women aged 50+. Everyone who wants to do sports in a pleasant atmosphere is welcome at the kickoff – regardless of gender, age and athletic ability.

Pickleball is easy to learn, gentle on the joints, and suitable for all ages.

As easy as table tennis – but your whole body gets involved!

Pickleball basics for everyone, anywhere

We bring pickleball to you: On small courts (“kitchen courts”), you can play almost anywhere. For this, courts measuring 4 × 6 meters are marked out and separated by a net. This way, everyone can give it a try with no barriers to entry! Pickleball can be played on any hard surface – indoors or outdoors: sports halls, parquet floors, asphalt, or other paved sports areas. “She Plays Pickleball” aims to establish pickleball across Austria and make a sustainable contribution to equality, health, and social participation.

Partnerships wanted

A special focus is on building partnerships. Three member clubs of the Pickleball Federation Austria are already supporting the project, and further collaborations are expressly welcome. Everyone can get involved: seniors’ clubs, sports clubs, municipalities, sports facility operators, PE teachers, individuals or organisations with available spaces, … Get in touch!

To ensure successful implementation, the project is actively looking for partners and sponsors. By sponsors we primarily mean companies and businesses that would like to support the project financially. In addition, sports clubs, municipalities, organisations and social institutions are invited to contribute as project partners.
